Within the framework of Skills³, the Interreg project that aims at strengthening the Life Sciences Labour Market in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, Vividlinks.eu has an important role to play. Not only it makes the Life Sciences market visible, it will also provide the online equipment to enforce your network as a Life Science professional.
In 2008 A new Interreg IV project started under the name SKILLS3 Main mission was to strengthen the Life Sciences Labour Market in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) and to stimulate the cross-border mobility of the Euregional workforce. In this project LifetecZONe cooperates with LifeTecAachen-Jülich e.v. and AGIT– Region Aachen, and LifeTechLimburg.be – Belgian Limburg, and Interface Entreprises-Université de Liège – for the Province of Liège .
To stimulate cross border cooperation in Life Sciences has been a goal for the branch associations like LifetecZONe & universities in the EMR for some time, other projects, each with a different mission were:
· INeurope: describing biotech landscape
· Heartbeat: networking
· Transcend: technology transfer between different activity sectors
· Alma-grid: virtual lab
· Biosmile: enlargement to North Western Europe .
And now Skills³: strenghtening the Labour Market
We believe that In the future, it will become more and more difficult to recruit personnel in the Life Sciences sector, where R&D is especially personnel intensive. Classical recruitment tools usually stop at borders. We forsee a brain drain to well known Life Sciences regions and want to emphasize the potential in the Euregio!
The project focuses on three integrated workpackages:
· Euregional seminars for HR managers
· Marketing of the EMR Life Sciences assets and competetence with a Euregional career portal
· Master Classes to stimulate contacts between Euregional pre-graduates, graduates, young professionals and companies
This Euregional Career Portal is now lauched under the name VividLinks and strives at making the Euregional labour market more transparent and accessible by displaying vacancies and company profiles in the EMR Life Sciences sector, to stimulate cross-border labour mobility and to provide information about working and living in the EMR.
Phase 1 is now completed. 160 company profiles are already online, each stating what their core business is and, importantly for young professionals, with direct HR contact details. Join now by creating your own company profile and be visible in the Life Sciences sector! Further on the career section gives access to all the vacancies. Both company and vacancy catalogues are searchable by using various parameters. And for those who are still doubting of crossing the borders, get convinced by the proximity of the companies, the map is everywhere… To support face to face meetings Vividlinks offers the possibility to publish events and to share news.
In the future Vividlinks will grow to become a mature platform based on web 2.0 technology, providing all the tools to make it user-driven. By the end of phase 2, the Life Sciences professionals can make their own dynamic profiles explaining their day-to-day business or emphasizing their qualities to meet potential partners or employers. Finally the interaction forum and the blog section will make the site complete in phase 3.
