Houston invites us back!
At Biomedica2008 a delegation of Houston was present to meet with Life Sciences companies in the Euregio. Houston is known as a medical “Powerhouse” for cardiology, genetics and oncology. The Texas Medical Center (TMC) is home to some major hospitals and medical research institutions eg. MD Anderson and Baylor. (together they register more than 6 million patient visits each year!). For their top notch research and care, large fundings are available, eg a $ 3 million budget for oncology research.

Trade mission “Biotech & Life Sciences”
exportimpulse! organizes a market development project for German Biotech and Life Sciences companies. This project – a trade mission - is an assignment for the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology (BMWi). The mission to the Netherlands – with individual one-on-one meetings between (East) German suppliers and Dutch Biotech/Life Sciences firms - will take place from 4 - 6 November 2008 in Breukelen by Utrecht

News flash
LifetecZONe at HAT congress
On September 9 -10 LifetecZONe and Lifetec Network were present at the Health & Technology congress in Papendal, Nijmegen. It was the first congress organised by Mikrocentrum targeting knowledge exchange and networking in the field of Medical Technology and Innovation in Care. In Papendal 952 participants were welcomed to this event were representatives from the medical field and the industry talked about new technologies and new medical devices & instruments.

On September 23 the Korean TV had an interview with Fred Bollen as Chair of Biomedica, The EBS Channel (Educational Broadcasting System) is known for its documentaries. For this special broadcast they were focussing on the cross border cooperations in Life Sciences in our three countries.
