The University of Liège (ULg) and its high-tech partner companies active in the field of digital imaging are organizing the first of a series of compact international conferences referred to as “Liège Image Days”. This first conference will be devoted to Medical Imaging and will be held in Liège, Belgium, on March 12-13, 2008, in conjunction with the 8th ImagéSanté Festival (Image&Health Festival).

 

The primary goal of the Liège Image Days conferences is networking between professionals from industry, academia, services, finances, and local authorities. The highlights of these conferences are a small number of presentations by local and international leading experts on hot and emerging topics in the theme of each particular conference, scientific posters for doctoral students (with competition and prizes), technical workshops and exhibits, business-to-business meetings, and social events.

During the Medical Imaging 2008 meeting, we will inaugurate our recently-acquired low-field interventional-MRI for image-guided surgery and have presentations on this topic. The participants will also have privileged access to the 8th ImagéSanté Festival, held almost simultaneously, and featuring an international competition among movies in the field of Health, together with live, interactive broadcasts of surgical operations at our University Hospital, as well as several social events.

The meeting will be of interest to anyone involved in Medical Imaging and, more generally, in imaging: physicians, radiologists, engineers, scientists, health practionners, academia, industry, sponsoring agencies, etc. Anyone with an interest in medical imaging is also welcome.
